Review Games-Peter in chains

When Peter is imprisoned and loosed by an angel,
we have a fun review game.

Peter, in chains:

Now, when a child answers a question,
they get to break on chain off.

I drew him from this pic I found on Google images.
My kids say it's from

'What's in the Bible with Buck Denver'.

~Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. Acts 12:5-8~

Review Game- Tax paying fish

Review Game, Jesus has Peter pay tax with coin from a fish's mouth.

On Google images I found this fish.

I cut big & little ones out of animal print cardstock, adding felt to the back.

So when the kids answer review questions, they put a big fish up, the next correct answerer finds the matching little fish and adds to the board.

I have a faint coin sketched on the back
of one fish for one blessed listener,
they will get a treat at the end.

~And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free. Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

Matthew 17:24-27~

Review Game- 12 Disciples

Our review game for Matthew 10.

I found this fun cartoon image of Jesus and his disciples in Google images:

I traced them, changing them up a bit, colored them and pasted them on cardstock. Covered them with postal tape to 'laminate' them and added a square of felt to the back:

So, after the bible lesson, my daughter Autumn asked review questions and kids added a disciple to the board, following Jesus.

~Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. Matthew 10:2-4~

Winter Picnic

For our last club meeting of Fall, we had a Winter Picnic.
It was a sweet time of reading a Christmas book, singing and a picnic with parents.

The invitation:

We read this great book that cuts through some of the myths of Christmas:

The mural I painted to remind us who we celebrate:

And I did not have time to get photos of  all the great food, here is the fun fruit tree:

Good News Club blog

While looking for ideas for review games for our CEF Good News club, I found a lack of good sources. I am inexperienced at blogging but hope to gather tips and ideas here. All with the goal of pointing kids to Jesus and making a creative learning time.
